ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC CARE

What is Chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is a non-invasive, hands-on Allied Health discipline focusing on diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal disorders. Manual techniques, such as spinal adjustments and manipulation, massage or ergonomic advice, are used to deal with issues such as neck, shoulder and back, headaches, and various musculoskeletal conditions.

Chiropractors are trained to examine, diagnose, and provide personalised treatment plans to relieve pain, improve your body’s function, and encourage natural healing.

Whether it’s a nagging pain or a desire for overall wellness, chiropractic care has got your back.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe?

Chiropractic treatments carry minimal risks when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner. It’s vital to provide your chiropractor with a full health history to ensure the safest care plan for you.

When to consider chiropractic treatment

Who we help and what we treat

Everyone’s welcome—we provide care for individuals of all ages, from little ones to pregnant mums and older people.

Consider seeking chiropractic care if you experience chronic pain in your neck, back or shoulders, or if you suffer from headaches, migraines, or musculoskeletal complaints.

Chiropractic care is also often sought for conditions such as whiplash, strains and sprains from daily activities, overuse injuries, work and sports-related injuries, restricted movement in the back, shoulders, neck, arms or legs, and arthritis. It also benefits those looking to improve posture, mobility, and overall health. Chiropractic care can help maintain healthy spine and joint function, even in the absence of painful symptoms.

If you're wrestling with persistent back, neck, or shoulder pain, or if headaches are giving you a hard time, book an appointment today.

Drop-Table Technique

Drop-Table Technique

A gentle chiropractic adjustment method using a specially designed table to assist with controlled and safe adjustment of your spine or joints. The drop table technique offers a safe and effective approach to chiropractic care, particularly for individuals with pelvis or lower back tension or those who prefer a lighter adjustment method, such as elderly patients or those with acute pain.

Flexion Distraction Therapy

Flexion Distraction Therapy

A safe, gentle, non-invasive chiropractic technique designed to relieve back and neck pain, herniated discs and other spinal conditions.

It involves using a specialised table that gently stretches and decompresses (flexion and traction) the spine to help reduce pressure on the discs, nerves, and other structures in the back.

Activator Adjustments

Activator Adjustments

An extensively researched adjustment technique that utilises a handheld adjustment device as an alternative to traditional manual adjustments. This method provides a precise and gentle impulse to the spine, aiming to reinstate movement to the specific vertebra or joint in focus. The process unfolds in several steps, individually targeting each vertebral segment.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling

A treatment in which thin needles are inserted into or near trigger points to help relieve stiffness and pain while improving range of motion. It is often used to treat shoulder pain, low back pain, headaches, muscle strains, and hip pain.

Cupping

Cupping

A traditional therapy in which glass, ceramic, bamboo or plastic cups are used to create suction on the skin. The therapy is believed to help reduce pain, improve blood circulation and relieve muscle tension.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound Therapy

A non-invasive treatment that uses high-frequency sound waves to penetrate soft tissues. It can help treat various musculoskeletal issues, including muscle pain, tissue injury, and muscle spasms.

CX Traction

CX Traction

CX traction, or Cervical Traction, is a non-invasive procedure used to provide symptomatic relief for several neck-related issues. It involves creating space between the bones in the neck to alleviate symptoms such as neck pain, radiculopathy and muscle tension.

Trigger Point / Soft Tissue Therapy

Trigger Point/Soft Tissue Therapy

A soft tissue technique used to release painful muscle tension and fascia, commonly experienced as knots in the muscle. It involves various approaches, including soft tissue work, deep tissue massage, dry needling and application of sustained pressure.

XRay Review

X-Ray Review

X-rays can support your treatment. A clear understanding of the results will help determine the best course of action. X-rays can help us diagnose, tailor treatment plans, and ensure your safety by providing valuable information for determining the appropriate treatment and any underlying issues that may affect chiropractic care.

What to Expect in Your Appointment

Your First Appointment

Your first visit involves a comprehensive chat about your health, followed by an orthopaedic, neurological, and chiropractic examination. You will receive chiropractic treatment at your first appointment. X-ray referral, if clinically indicated, may be required to assess the structure and function of your spinal column. From there, we will tailor a treatment plan suited to you.

Your Second Appointment

Your second appointment is an extended appointment in which we’ll share the detailed findings from your first appointment, including any x-rays that may have been taken, and you will receive treatment as well. We will also present you with your recommended care plan, which you can take home with you. During this visit, we aim to educate you regarding your condition and recommend lifestyle practices that may help improve your condition.

Your follow-up appointments

On your regular return visits, your spine will be continually assessed for misalignments (subluxations) and corrected through gentle adjustments. Your progress will be monitored via period examinations and follow-up reports to ensure your treatment plan improves your condition.
